MALU WILZ Beauté is not a brand that looked at cosmetics from the outside. It was created from within – from the practice of the beauty institute, the work of the makeup artist, the daily contact with real skin and real needs.

Malu Wilz herself is a makeup artist, founder of a makeup school, and international trainer. In 1979, she started her own business, and in 1987 she opened the first makeup school in Aachen – becoming one of the few internationally recognized makeup artists in Germany. She did makeup for Miss Universe contestants and worked in Las Vegas, China, Pakistan, and Iran. Her special discipline: the camouflage technique – a method she developed after her own accident and has since been used in hospitals for cancer patients.

In 2024, she received the Prix d'Honneur de la Beauté at the Beauty Forum fair in Munich – the award for her life's work. From this experience, a brand was born that remains committed to this standard: professional quality, clear effectiveness, no compromise between beauty and skin compatibility. Dermatologically tested, Made in Germany, represented in more than 30 countries.

History

Two convictions, one name, over 35 years of existence

Helmut Baurecht had a clear vision: a professional brand that is exclusive and trendy – but with a solid active ingredient foundation and genuine ambition. He found the right name with Malu Wilz, who as an experienced makeup artist brought exactly what no lab can provide: decades of practical knowledge and the conviction that makeup and skincare must be considered together.

Together they developed a professional series for beauticians and makeup artists. In 1990, MALU WILZ Beauté GmbH was founded as part of the ARTDECO Cosmetic Group – a family-run company in Karlsfeld near Munich, which today unites ARTDECO, MAKE UP FACTORY, ANNY, and MALU WILZ Beauté.

Today, the brand counts over 3,000 institute partners in Germany and 30 international distribution partners in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East – awarded by Beauty Forum as the best decorative brand in beauty institutes. Malu Wilz herself still runs her makeup school in Aachen and actively contributes her experience to brand development.

The decorative range of MALU WILZ Beauté is the heart of the brand – and the area where the makeup artist's perspective is most directly felt. The color palette is inspired by the fashion capitals of the world but never follows trends at the expense of everyday wearability.

Timeless and current at the same time – that is the claim. What this means concretely: extremely long-lasting formulations, optimal skin compatibility, professional textures that are easy to apply both in the salon and at home. Dermatologically tested, suitable for sensitive skin, developed for professional use.

The range includes complexion (foundation, concealer, BB cream), powder & finish, eyes (eyeshadow, eyeliner, kohl), mascara, eyebrows, lips (lipsticks, lip gloss, lip liner), camouflage, and professional brushes.

A special system: the refillable beauty boxes. Individual products – especially from the camouflage range – can be clicked into personal color boxes and refilled as needed. With the first refill purchase, 46% less cardboard and 80% less plastic are used compared to a new purchase. Sustainability that shows in your handbag.

The line works with a three-part active ingredient concept: aquaporin stimulators that activate moisture transport in the skin, a filaggrin booster that strengthens the protective barrier, and a biomimetic NMF complex that binds water directly in the stratum corneum.
