Joan Carles Font opened a pharmacy in Barcelona in 1985 – and began developing formulas that were not available on the market. Not because he wanted to build a brand, but because as a pharmacist and scientist he understood what his patients' skin really needed. Precise formulations for specific skin conditions: that was the beginning of mesoestetic®.

What started as a single formula became a laboratory. What started as a laboratory became one of the few pharmaceutical companies in Spain that develops, manufactures, and clinically tests cosmetics and medical products for aesthetic medicine under one roof. The milestones of this story tell of a company that has never stopped investing in itself: 2002 marked the start of international expansion, 2010 the launch of cosmelan® as a worldwide reference in depigmentation treatment, 2020 the development of the new brand identity as "the element for skincare experts," and 2024 the fifth patent with PHOTON technology for mesoprotech®.

Today mesoestetic® is present in more than 110 countries and will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025 – as a company that has carried the same conviction from the first pharmacy formula to patented sun protection technology: Excellence is not a goal, but an attitude.

What fundamentally sets mesoestetic® apart from other professional skincare brands is the question of where research begins. Not in the marketing briefing, but in the laboratory. mesoestetic® invests more than 40 percent of its profits each year in research, development, and innovation – and maintains its own biotechnology department as well as a medical monitoring unit led by internationally recognized specialists in dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

In-vitro and in-vivo studies form the basis of every product development. Five registered patents – including melaphenon® and (SYN)PIGMENTARGET for the depigmentation line dermamelan® as well as the PHOTON technology for mesoprotech® – prove that innovation at mesoestetic® is not used as a communication tool but as a scientific commitment.

The production facility in Viladecans complies with European GMP manufacturing standards and is certified according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22716:2007, and ISO 13485:2016. mesoestetic® is the only pharmaceutical laboratory in Spain that manufactures Class III medical devices for intradermal administration in cosmetic medicine. This foundation is reflected in every product – from home-use serums to professional depigmentation treatments.
