Care for oily skin

Regulate sebum, clear pores, maintain balance

Oily skin produces more sebum than the skin needs – this is genetically determined and usually hormonally influenced. The shine returns quickly, pores appear larger, and impurities develop more easily. These are not hygiene issues but signs of an imbalance in sebaceous gland activity.

Care for oily skin regulates excess sebum, clears pores, and restores balance – without drying out the skin and causing the opposite effect.

Regulate sebum

Excess sebum can be normalized – with active ingredients that balance instead of drying out.

Clear pores

Clogged pores are caused by sebum and keratin buildup. Gentle exfoliation clarifies and visibly refines.

Don't forget moisture

Even oily skin needs hydration – in light, non-comedogenic textures without a greasy film.

Oily skin doesn’t need harshness – it needs care that restores its balance.

Sebum Control & Mattifying

Why oily skin produces sebum – and how to regulate it

Sebaceous glands respond to hormonal signals, stress, and skincare. In oily skin, they are overactive – this is not a malfunction but a genetic predisposition. The goal of care is not to eliminate sebum completely – it protects the skin. The goal is to normalize the overproduction.

Niacinamid is one of the most effective active ingredients against excess sebum: It regulates sebaceous gland activity and visibly refines the appearance of pores. Zinc supports sebum regulation and has anti-inflammatory effects. Light textures like gel creams or fluids nourish without weighing down.

Mattifying primers or powders can help during the day – but they do not solve the problem. Long-term improvement comes from consistent care with regulating active ingredients.

Pores & Exfoliation

Clearing pores – why blockages occur and what helps

Enlarged pores occur when sebum and dead skin cells block the pore opening together. The result is blackheads, papules, or an uneven skin texture. The solution is not squeezing but regular clearing from within.

Salicylic acid (BHA) is oil-soluble and can penetrate deep into the pores – ideal for oily skin. Fruit acids (AHA) support superficial cell renewal. Used gently, once or twice a week, they visibly improve the skin texture without weakening the barrier.

Too frequent or too intense peelings are counterproductive: the skin reacts with increased sensitivity and – paradoxically – often with more sebum production.

Hydration & Routine

Why oily skin still needs moisture

The most common mistake with oily skin: skipping moisturizer. When the skin dries out, it signals the sebaceous glands to produce more. The result: more shine, more blemishes – the opposite of the goal.

Oily skin needs moisture – but in the right form. Hyaluronic acid provides water without a greasy film. Panthenol soothes and regenerates gently. Gel creams or water-based serums are the right textures: they care for the skin without clogging pores.

Routine for oily skin: gentle cleansing morning and evening – water-based serum – light cream or fluid – oil-free sun protection during the day. Few steps, consistently followed.

Targeted additions to your beauty routine for Care for oily skin

Impure skin needs structure but also restraint. Too aggressive care can worsen the complexion in the long term. This section combines clarifying lines, balancing moisture, and gentle supplements that help refine pores and soothe the complexion – without stressing the skin barrier.
