In the southwest of France, in the Landes department near Dax, a spring originates whose dermatological properties for the skin have been known since the early 16th century. In 1841, the Académie de Médecine officially recognized the soothing and barrier-strengthening effect of the thermal water from Gamarde-les-Bains – rich in minerals and sulfur derivatives, suitable for sensitive skin.
